ANAK Kapatid In-School Mentorship Program launched

November 23, 2006
In co-operation with the University of Winnipeg Filipino Students' Association (UWFSA), ANAK officially launched its Kapatid In-school Mentorship Program at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute. The program will partner Filipino University students with Filipino High School newcomers.
"As first generation Filipino-Canadians, we know that adapting to a new life and culture can be an overwhelming transition. We want to help ease the troubles our youth may face as newcomers by building the bridge into their new life as Canadians. In addition to building new friendships, ANAK mentors will also have the opportunity to re-connect with their language and culture through their partnered students. It's Filipino youth supporting Filipino youth - we are proud to be the first to recognize the need to launch this program," says ANAK
