As a potential ANAK scholar, you are a Grade 12 Filipino-Canadian student who intends to further your post-secondary studies during the 2022/2023 academic year.

You also have an academic grade point average of B (70% or 3.0) or higher in three 40S courses (including English).

Right now, you are probably getting ready to start your 500-word essay in response to the question: “In what ways does our Filipino/a/x community create connection to culture and identity while navigating the space between the homeland and the diaspora?”

Congratulations! You're on your way!

We've put together a number of important resources to help you as you conduct your interviews and oral history research.

One section of ANAK's Manila to Manitoba Exhibit (2010)

In 2010, ANAK hosted the first Filipino-Canadian oral history exhibit in Manitoba at the Manitoba Museum.

We interviewed dozens of Filipino-Canadian workers, students, leaders, and artists to celebrate our community's 50th anniversary.

We hope that by sharing some of our resources, we can inspire you to also celebrate your family history as you compete for the ANAK Liwayway Scholarship. Remember you can interview whoever you want (not necessarily your family), but anyone who you feel has made an impact to you.
