Transition

Director's 2012 Year in Review
Daisydee Bautista

Moving places, passing time, change in general. Whether the transition is smooth or rocky, both are a part of the personal journey we each are meant to discover for ourselves. This past year, transition has been the theme of ANAK’s focus. From the Filipino Youth Transitions in Canada project, to the ingenious transitions created from scraps during our annual high school conference, to working with our Kapatid Program participants transitioning to life in Winnipeg, and to our own transitions as an organization. All have been a continuous learning experience as we grow and move forward.

Award presenter and 2011 recipient Ellamai Buno
with 2012 recipients, Israel Pieda and Eric Vitug.

The 2012 ANAK Liwayway Citizenship Book Award was presented last June at DMCI’s graduation ceremony. Israel Pieda was awarded for his active volunteerism in our mentorship programs, and an honourable mention also awarded to Eric Vitug. Congratulations to all of our recipients!

I find myself saying yet again that it’s hard to believe another year has passed. I am proud that we as volunteers have been able to accomplish all that we have. Thank you to all of the supporters who make everything with ANAK possible. Best wishes for all through the transition life finds you.
